Quick answer: Choosing your business address before you form a Florida LLC keeps your home off the public record from the first filing. On our Business Address + Registered Agent and Portfolio plans, we file your LLC with the State of Florida for you at no additional service charge. State filing fees still apply.

What becomes public when you form a Florida LLC?

Everything you put on the filing becomes part of the company’s public record on Sunbiz, the Division of Corporations’ search site. Anyone can look it up, and the record can include:

  • The company’s principal address and mailing address
  • The registered agent’s name and the registered office address
  • The names and addresses of the managers or authorized persons

Annual reports refresh the same details each year. If you start out with your home address, a quick search of your company name is all it takes to find it.

Why pick your Naples address before you file?

You can change a record after the fact, but the earlier filing stays on file and may still show your home. Choosing a commercial address first means your home never appears at all.

Naples owners form LLCs to hold rental property, run a consulting or service business, manage investments, or separate a side business from their household. A business address in Naples gives each of those a public record that points to your suite and not your front door.

What does free LLC filing include?

On Business Address + Registered Agent and Portfolio plans, we file your LLC with the State of Florida at no additional service charge. Choose the filing option at checkout, give us the LLC name you want, and we take it from there.

The State of Florida’s own filing fee is separate, and you pay it. Current fees are listed on Sunbiz. You’ll find our plans and pricing on the plans section of the home page.

What order should you do things in?

  1. Search Sunbiz to confirm the LLC name you want is available.
  2. Sign up for a plan that includes Registered Agent service, choose free LLC filing at checkout, and give us your LLC name.
  3. Complete USPS Form 1583 and upload your IDs online. There’s no notary appointment and no office visit. Once your setup is approved, your Naples address is ready to use.
  4. We file the LLC with the State of Florida, with your Naples suite as the principal and mailing address and our registered agent details in the agent field.
  5. After the LLC exists, take care of what comes next: a federal tax ID, an operating agreement, and a business bank account. Banks set their own address and documentation requirements, so ask yours before you apply.

Already filed with your home address?

You can replace it. The Division of Corporations’ Update Your Information page covers changing a company’s principal or mailing address, has a separate option for an officer’s or manager’s address, and lets businesses formed before January 1 of the current year make changes through the annual report.

An update replaces the addresses on the current record, and earlier filings may still show the old one. It affects only the Division of Corporations’ records. Other agencies, including the Florida Department of Revenue and DBPR, have their own update steps. For a walkthrough, read how to remove your home address from Sunbiz.

Who should you ask about entity choice and taxes?

Whether an LLC fits your situation, how it will be taxed, and what your operating agreement should say are questions for a licensed attorney or CPA. We’re not a law firm. What we do is make sure the addresses on your filing are the ones you meant to make public.
